LNPG
Throughout the year, the Lockhart Native Plant Garden hosts seasonal events that invite the community to connect with the land—volunteer days, guided plant walks, educational workshops, and our annual Garden Party. Each gathering is an opportunity to learn, give back, and celebrate the beauty of native plants in our mountain home.

Garden Policy
The Lockhart Native Plant Garden is a community space dedicated to preserving local flora, supporting wildlife, and offering a peaceful place to learn and connect with nature. We kindly ask that all visitors stay on designated paths, refrain from picking or disturbing plants, and leave no trace. Smoking, vaping, and open flames are not permitted, and pets should remain outside the garden fence to protect sensitive plantings—though service animals are always welcome.
Families, photographers, artists, and nature lovers are invited to enjoy the garden respectfully. Children must be supervised, and quiet reflection is encouraged. Volunteers are welcome and asked to attend a brief orientation before working in the garden. Together, we can honor the legacy of Ann and Jim Lockhart by caring for this space with intention, reverence, and shared responsibility.
Safety Guidelines
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, we ask visitors and volunteers to wear appropriate clothing, including closed-toe shoes, gloves, and sun protection. Please stay on designated paths, walk carefully on uneven ground, and use garden tools only with guidance. Bring water, take breaks as needed, and be mindful of changing weather at high elevation.
This is a living habitat—please observe wildlife from a distance and avoid disturbing plants or animals. Running, rough play, and pets inside the garden are not permitted. If you see a safety concern or hazard, notify a garden steward immediately. A first aid kit is available during volunteer events, and in case of emergency, call 911. Your care helps keep the garden safe for everyone.
